The South Korean fighter Hong Man Choi, known by the nickname Techno Goliath, is ill with a rare disease - acromegaly. The disease provokes a constant growth of a person, the bones thicken, and, in particular, the facial part of the body.
The debut of Hong Man Choi took place at the 2005 K-1 Grand Prix held in Seoul, then he defeated Kaoklai Kaennorsing in the final. In Final Elimination, Hong Mann defeated Bob Sapp, but in the next fight he lost to Remy Bonjasky. Choi lost on points to Jerome Le Banner, Remy Bonjasky, Badr Hari (the seconds threw a towel into the ring) and he lost by knockout only to Mighty Moe.
He received his nickname, still being a fighter in South Korea, because after his victories he danced to the music of techno. On Japanese television and in the news he’s called "Korean Monster".
One of Choi's most famous fights is a fight with Sammy Schilt in 2006 in Seoul at the World Grand Prix. Choi won on points. The fight was truly unique due to the huge growth of both opponents.
